Global warming will NOT cause more hurricanes
The author of the theory that global warming will cause stronger hurricanes has recanted his view!!!
Hurricane expert, meteorology professor at MIT and one of Times 100 Influential People of 2006, Kerry Emanuel has publicly reversed his stance on the impact of Global Warming on Hurricanes. Emanuel has released new research indicating that even in a rapidly warming world, hurricane frequency and intensity will not be substantially affected.
In a March 2008 paper published in the 'Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society', he announced he is rethinking his previous assumption of global warming as an increasing threat for more hurricane activity than normal. Other research papers have also suggested that warming seas may not be the main cause of increased hurricane activity.

Forced To Go Green
In Germany they have taken "going green" to a whole new level. In picturesque Marburg, Germany the "Green Dictatorship" is forcing everyone to install solar panels on their roofs. If anyone does not comply with the new regulations (that will cost each home owner thousands of dollars) they will be fined $1,500! 
This town in Germany is representitive of taking "going green" too far. Someone should not be forced to go green for the sake of going green. We support alternative energy... but we do not support people being forced to spend thousands of dollars for the sake of some solar panel company making windfall profits!

Finally, we have found a reason....
Below is an article coming out of Australia. I think they have finally discovered what the hype is all about. The 'punch drinkers' are actually suffering from a psychological disorder now known as 'climate change delusion'. I think his closing paragraphs say it all. Let's hope Al seeks treatment too!

Some dastardly scientists with environmental and political motives manipulated long term scientific data back in the late 1990's to create an allusion of rapid global warming. Other scientists of the same environmental wacko type jumped into the circle to support and broaden the "research" to further enhance the totally slanted, bogus global warming claims. Their friends in government steered huge research grants their way to keep the movement going. Soon they claimed to be a consensus.
Environmental extremist, notable politicians among them then teamed up with movie, media and other liberal, environmentalist journalists to create this wild "scientific" scenario of the civilization threatening environmental consequences from Global Warming unless we adhere to their radical agenda.
Now their ridicules manipulated science has been accepted as fact and become a cornerstone issue for CNN, CBS, NBC, the Democratic Political Party, the Governor of California, school teachers and, in many cases, well informed but very gullible environmental conscientious citizens. Only one reporter at ABC has been allowed to counter the Global Warming frenzy with one 15 minutes documentary segment.
I do not oppose environmentalism. I do not oppose the political positions of either party.
However, Global Warming, i.e. Climate Change, is not about environmentalism or politics. It is not a religion. It is not something you "believe in." It is science; the science of meteorology. This is my field of life-long expertise. And I am telling you Global Warming is a nonevent, a manufactured crisis and a total scam. (emphasis added by SupportTheWarmth) I say this knowing you probably won't believe me, a mere TV weatherman, challenging a Nobel Prize, Academy Award and Emmy Award winning former Vice President of United States. So be it.
I suspect you might like to say to me, "John, look the research that supports the case for global warming was done by research scientists; people with PH D's in Meteorology. They are employed by major universities and important research institutions. Their work has been reviewed by other scientists with PH D's. They have to know a lot more about it than you do. Come on, John, get with it. The experts say our pollution has created an strong and increasing greenhouse effect and a rapid, out of control global warming is underway that will sky rocket temperatures, destroy agriculture, melt the ice caps, flood the coastlines and end life as we know it. How can you dissent from this crisis? You must be a bit nutty.
Allow me, please, to explain how I think this all came about. Our universities have become somewhat isolated from the rest of us. There is a culture and attitudes and values and pressures on campus that are very different. I know this group well. My father and my older brother were both PHD-University types. I was raised in the university culture. Any person who spends a decade at a university obtaining a PHD in Meteorology and become a research scientist, more likely than not, becomes a part of that single minded culture. They all look askance at the rest of us, certain of their superiority. They respect government and disrespect business, particularly big business. They are environmentalists above all else.
And, there is something else. These scientists know that if they do research and results are in no way alarming, their research will gather dust on the shelf and their research careers will languish. But if they do research that sounds alarms, they will become well known and respected and receive scholarly awards and, very importantly, more research dollars will come flooding their way.
So when these researchers did climate change studies in the late 90's they were eager to produce findings that would be important and be widely noticed and trigger more research funding. It was easy for them to manipulate the data to come up with the results they wanted to make headlines and at the same time drive their environmental agendas. Then their like minded PHD colleagues reviewed their work and hastened to endorse it without question.
There were a few who didn't fit the mold. They did ask questions and raised objections. They did research with contradictory results. The environmental elitists berated them brushed their studies aside.
I have learned since the Ice Age is coming scare in the 1970's to always be a skeptic about research. In the case of global warming, I didn't accept media accounts. Instead I read dozens of the scientific papers. I have talked with numerous scientists. I have studied. I have thought about it. I know I am correct when I assure you there is no run away climate change. The impact of humans on climate is not catastrophic. Our planet is not in peril. It is all a scam, the result of bad science. (emphasis added by SupportTheWarmth)
I am not alone in this assessment. There are hundreds of other meteorologists, many of them PH D's, who are as certain as I am that this global warming frenzy is based on bad science and is not valid.
I am incensed by the incredible media glamour, the politically correct silliness and rude dismal of counter arguments by the high priest of Global Warming.
In time, a decade or two, the outrageous scam will be obvious. As the temperature rises, polar ice cap melting, coastal flooding and super storm pattern all fail to occur as predicted everyone will come to realize we have been duped.
The sky is not falling. And, natural cycles and drifts in climate are as much if not more responsible for any climate changes underway. (emphasis added by SupportTheWarmth) I strongly believe that the next twenty years are equally as likely to see a cooling trend as they are to see a warming trend."

A Tale of Two Houses...
Some may have recieved this via email. But I think it is worth posting again...
House #1
A 20 room mansion (not including 8 bathrooms) heated by natural gas. Add on a pool (and a pool house) and a separate guest house, all heated by gas. In one month this residence consumes more energy than the average American household does in a year. The average bill for electricity and natural gas runs over $2400 per month. In natural gas alone, this property consumes more than 20 times the national average for an American home. This house is not situated in a Northern or Midwestern "snow belt" area. It's in the South.

Designed by an architecture professor at a leading national university. This house incorporates every "green" feature current home construction can provide. The house is 4 ,000 square feet (4 bedrooms) and is nestled on a high prairie in the American southwest. A central closet in the house holds geothermal heat-pumps drawing ground water through pipes sunk 300 feet into the ground. The water (usually 67 degrees F) heats the house in the winter and cools it in the summer. The system uses no fossil fuels such as oil or natural gas and it consumes one-quarter electricity required for a conventional heating/cooling system. Rainwater from the roof is collected and funneled into a 25,000 gallon underground cistern. Wastewater from showers, sinks and toilets goes into underground purifying tanks and then into the cistern. The collected water then irrigates the land surrounding the house. Surrounding flowers and shrubs native to the area enable the property to blend into the surrounding rural landscape.

Finally
If you haven't heard... the north pole may be ice free this summer! This will open up a great new route for ships to sail. Finally the world will have access to the potentially huge oil reserves. This could be a great opportunity to cut down on shipping costs as a result of the new shipping route and could also cut down on oil costs if the drilling is successful. Go Global Warming!

Discrimination
A new "eco-nightclub" is opening in London next month. The floor is going to be able to generate electricity from people dancing. Its actually pretty cool and I appreciate the ingenuity... but I do not appreciate the discrimination of the night club! In order to be let into the nightclub you are forced to "sign a pledge promising to work towards curbing climate change." I think it is pretty unbelievable in order to be allowed into a night club you have to sign a pledge to fight climate change. Climate change is a good thing! We should be supporting the warmth not coercing people into signing pledges to stop it. Just another ploy by another company to get people to buy their product (attend their night club) by guilting people into "being green."

Benefits of Global Warming
Several of the benefits of global warming:
Warmer weather (who doesn't like it? I'm sure the Russians will love a couple of extra degrees of warmth in the winter!)
More CO2 to help the plants grow (which makes the planet greener!)
Less expensive to heat your house in the winter (potential savings of $12 billion dollars a year in the U.S. ... we all want to save money)
Less snow and ice related traffic accidents and deaths (I don't enjoy slipping on the ice and breaking stuff)
New and wonderful species can evolve for us to enjoy (survival of the fittest)
Endangered species that enjoy warm weather will have more regions to survive and thrive
People a couple of blocks away from the ocean will now have ocean front property
With melting ice the Bering Strait could now become an oceanic highway
If you like calamari... squid react to warmer water by adding extra body mass

An interesting article recently published in USA Today says global warming may be caused by clouds. But... I thought Al Gore said "anyone who believes global warming is not man-made is like someone who believes the earth is flat." Al Gore didn't invent the internet, but we might soon find out he did invent man-made global warming. Just another reason you should not join the Al Gore cult. Global warming is a natural cycle that should be supported!

How clouds respond to global warming poses a huge challenge for climate scientists, since clouds are far more changeable in real life than models can predict. However, experts do agree that the level of future global warming greatly depends on clouds.
A new study finds that natural variations in how clouds form could actually be causing temperature changes, rather than the other way around, and could also lead to overestimates of how sensitive the Earth's climate is to greenhouse gas emissions.
"Since the cloud changes could conceivably be caused by known long-term modes of climate variability, such as the Pacific Decadal Oscillation, or El Niño and La Niña, some, or even most, of the global warming seen in the last century could simply be due to natural fluctuations in the climate system," says lead author Roy Spencer of the University of Alabama-Huntsville.
Spencer and his co-author William Braswell point out that the paper doesn't disprove the theory that humans are causing global warming. Instead, they report that "it offers an alternative explanation for what we see in the climate system which has the potential for greatly reducing estimates of mankind's impact on Earth's climate."
"But we really won't know until much more work is done," he added. In addition to this article, Spencer has published several others that question the scientific consensus about climate change, which states that human-produced greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide are causing global warming.
